Clocks - Mechanical or Quartz Conversion

ALL CLOCKS sent for service are completely disassembled and go through the following procedure:

  1. Outer cases are glass beaded, inside & out.
    1. OUTSIDE-sprayed with a rust preventative sealant.
    2. INSIDE-repainted.
  2. Bezels, lens retainers, & hands are repainted factory colors - REPLACEMENT IS EXTRA!
  3. Clock faces are cleaned and polished. SILKSCREENING IS EXTRA!
  4. Clock lens are buffed – Replaced if necessary! REPLACEMENT IS EXTRA!
  5. ALL Clocks are tested approximately 24 HOURS before shipping

The existing movement is repaired or replaced.

Mechanical Repair

  • Some owner’s manuals indicate that it is necessary to have a Corvette mechanical clock serviced yearly, in order to keep the clock in correct functioning condition. If you do this, your clock will last forever. However, most ignore this suggested maintenance.
  • The current draw is 2-3 amps every 2-3 minutes when the clock winds.
  • Clock movement is cleaned.
  • Worn parts are replaced.
  • Clock is oiled and calibrated for proper timekeeping.

Quartz Conversion

  • A Quartz Crystal Time Base movement is installed in our Corvette clock.
  • The current draw is .7 ma. Accurate to 2 seconds per day at standard temperatures.
  • Operating temperature is -30 to +180 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Movement is chock mounted for extra protection.
